I just had to share a few photos that I took while on my vacation last week! I didn't technically work, but I couldn't resist the temptation to snap a few photos of my brother and his family. These photos were all taken in about 10 minutes before lunch and my nephew, Rupert, was more in the mood to play with his cousins than have his picture taken, but I did manage to get him in a few shots before the grilled cheese romanced him inside :)

erin, christal, denise, edith, marlis and trudy {friends}
A few months back, my Auntie Erin propositioned me about a session for her and her girlfriends. This was not just your average friend session, however. These girls began their friendship 37 years ago (a couple even further back) in high school. Jump ahead almost four decades, many weddings, bridesmaids dresses,17 children, and countless emails between them...and you find them here...at Harrison Hot Springs for a weekend getaway. They are now spread out across the country, but their ties are tight. The weekend was planned in honor of several 50th birthdays this year; and even in the short time I spent with these gals, they were planning the celebrations of years to come.
I had asked Erin to bring along some photos of her girlfriends from the early days of their friendship and I was not disappointed. The reminiscing made for some fun photos and it also inspired a re-creation attempt you will see at the bottom of the post.
Ladies, it was great to spend a bit of time with you and witness, what is obviously, a deep and true friendship. Who knows....maybe I'll see you all again in 10 years at the big 6-0!

{holidays}
This photographer is on holidays! I have one post scheduled to go up this week and four more sessions scheduled for next week when I get back...so stay tuned! Also, fall sessions are filling up quickly, so if you're the indecisive type (like yours truly), now is the time to make an appointment :) Until next week...

savannah {newborn}
This little darling is Savannah. In these photographs she is 11 days old...brand spankin' new! Savannah's momma, Kirstin, is the daughter of a co-worker/friend; I have gotten to know Kirstin a little bit over the last few years and know these two things for sure: She is a sweetheart and she is a great mom! Savannah's big brother, Damien, woke up from a nap near the end of our session, so I was glad to be able to get him into a few shots too...after he showed me his trucks, of course.
Tom, Kirstin, Damien and Savannah ~ your little family is so sweet! A huge congratulations on your new addition and looking forward to getting your gorgeous kiddos in front of my camera more as they grow :)

jack {newborn}
Remember this couple from a maternity session back in June? Their little bundle, Jack, arrived 3 weeks ago, and he is just the most darling little guy...do you see those lips?!?! I went with my kids and some friends to Vancouver yesterday and was really hoping to have a chance to pop in and meet Jack; we have a family session scheduled at the end of the month, but I couldn't pass up the chance of getting a few shots of him when he is still itty-bitty. Mom and Dad weren't expecting to be in the pictures...but I managed to coerce them. It was far too short of a visit, and I would have loved to spend some more time taking photos, but it will have to tide me over until our upcoming session.
To the family of three...enjoy your babymoon with your beautiful son. Can't wait to catch up with you next time!
