I met this couple for the first time, a few months back, to shoot their engagement photos, and was excited to reconnect with them for their big day last weekend.
The wedding day dawned in typical B.C. fashion....grey skies, light showers, with a chance of sun, a chance of more showers; basically, we had no idea what would come our way!
There were lots of beautiful, little touches to the day's events...I loved Chelanna's shoes (though I'm not sure how much her feet loved them by the end of the day :)
I also have to take this chance to give props to my amazingly, talented friend, Kari of Confetti who created the bouquets for the wedding ....she is THE floral design gal of the Fraser Valley!
We ran into a bit of rain for the "first glance" and family portraits, but with a few umbrellas, several dress carrying assistants and a covered area of brick wall at the Surrey Art Gallery, we got through it all keeping the bride's beautiful dress sparkling white!
After the more formal portraits, we took off to the mall and skytrain station to have a bit of fun with the wedding party. First stop? Starbucks! And, for any of you that know me personally....this is my kind of location.
The ceremony was held at the couple's church. It was set up as an afternoon tea, with friends an family seated at tables during the ceremony, which flowed directly into the reception. It was a relaxed, and intimate setting...complete with an uber cute flower girl and ringbearer!
Once the couple was officially a Mr. and Mrs., we headed back to Bear Creek Park to take advantage of the clear skies. After a quick change of shoes (you can almost feel the relief, no?) and a wee break in the sunshine, we were able to get a few more relaxed shots of this cute couple and their wedding party.
I love this next picture because these two also wore Converse shoes to their engagement photos!
way to go soos
