jon + janessa {family}

Jon + Janessa were the second of two family sessions at Derby Reach on an overcast Saturday in April. I have to swallow my "shallow-ness" and confess that my first reaction when I saw this family was total clothing envy of their darling daughter's jacket. Yes, instead of thinking apertures and ISO's, my pregnant mind was sent swirling to where and how I could get that coat...in my size.
And THEN, these two little kiddos (who were both remarkably well behaved) put on their Canucks apparel, and I was officially smitten. I'm so happy that I am able to get these photos to them before this weeks big play-offs begin. I also have to mention "camera shy" Jon's (the dad) good behaviour during this session. With promises of a child free date night to persuade him, Jon threw out a bunch of smiles and, secretly, I think he even had a bit of fun.
Jon + Janessa ~ it was great to meet you and spend the morning with your sweet family. And really, with fans as adorable as your munchkins, the Canucks simply can't lose...

like a fairytale... {graduation}

As some of you know, I am currently expecting baby #3. I am not one of those pregnant women that glow. I turn green, and exhausted, emotional and large. It's been a doozy of a month, but at 16 weeks, things are looking a bit brighter. Because of a rough first trimester, I am behind on editing, emails...pretty much everything. So, if you are waiting for photos or replies, know that I'm on it...just a bit slower.
That being said, last weeks prom festivities at Heritage Park Secondary in Mission were not something I was going to pass up. My husband works with youth, so I have some very special teenagers in my life. Some of them I have gotten to know recently, some of them (ahem...Colton) I have known since they were little kidlets. My daughters came along to this event, and were in total awe of all the "princesses." I was too...
To the Heritage grads of 2011 ~ Thanks for being so cool and making me feel a little less...old. I love you guys and am so proud of you!
