jonathan + katie {wedding}

From my initial consult with these two, to their snowy engagement session and then to their  beautiful outdoor wedding day, I have felt a connection with this couple. They are two people that are quite obviously meant to be together, but not so wrapped up in each other that they leave everyone else behind. I was greeted at the rehearsal with big hugs from both, and Steve and I were made to feel so welcome throughout their festivities.
This wedding was indeed, a family affair. The location was the stunning home and grounds of Jon's brother and sister-in-law in Surrey, BC. The family members, who came from as far as Australia, all took part in the preparations and events. Katie + Jon didn't need attendants...their family was the wedding party.

{the beautiful backdrop for our day}

{although Katie opted not to do getting ready pictures, I was lucky to get a few photos of  the final touches with Jon's sister}

{Katie, you looked so beautiful}

{some of the many details and special touches that were being set up as the ceremony neared}

{their ceremony was beautiful and so meaningful...I was glad to have my camera to cover up a few tears of mine}

{I don't normally include family portraits, but they were such a huge part of the day...Jon was the last of six siblings to get married}

{while the guests mingled and mixed, we were able to steal the newlyweds for a few portraits before the reception}

{Katie...did I mention you made a lovely bride?...seriously!!!!}

{we were so fortunate to get some awesome light at the end of a beautiful day}

{it's hard to be a groom, hey Jon?}

{the reception was a mix of amazing food...lots of laughter...and topped off with some yummy Tracycakes!}

{Katie welcomed as an "out-law" by her sister-in-laws...hilarious}

{which leg is the bride's?...or is it just your razor savvy brother?? Loved the reactions}

Jon + Katie ~ your day was spectacular and such a pleasure to be a part of. Thank you for making Steve and I feel so welcome. I loved how your wedding reflected your personalities and priorities...you truly have something very special. Wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness together...
