chantal + nathan {kitsilano engagement photography}

This post marks the first engagement session of the 2012 wedding season. Weddings are done for this year (though I still have one to post) and it is time again to wind down...take photos of families, babies, and of course, the newly engaged...sparkles in their eyes and on her finger.

I met Chantal several years ago when she interned for my husband. She has always been a sweetie, and, as a bonus, has an excellent sense of style. So, when I received her email about wedding photography...even before she became engaged, I knew it was something that I wanted to be a part of.
Enter Nathan...quiet at first, but it quickly became apparent that the two made a brilliant match. I probably should have known when I received the email asking if they could bring sailor hats :)

Their chemistry and shared sense of fun and adventure make them one of those couples that seem to have everything around them just melt away...like it's just the two of them.

And, a special thanks to my fabulous aunt, Colleen, from Vintage Home, for the "treasure chest" and sherbert colored quilt!

dustin + esther {chilliwack maternity photography}

I met this beautiful couple this past spring when Esther was a bridesmaid at her sister's wedding, which we photographed. The session was a delight from beginning to end. Esther and I are due just a couple weeks apart, so it was fun to chat pregnancy and all things baby.  We started things off at their lovely home in Chilliwack. I love this idea as baby can one day look back on what life was like, at least a little, before he/she arrives. Esther also mentioned that she just happened to drive by a cool, turquoise barn earlier that day. We went to check it out, and I have myself a new favourite location. I LOVED it! The session finished up at the family farm, just as the sun was setting...perfection.
Dustin + Esther ~ I truly believe you will be fabulous parents...your baby will be so well loved, and likely ridiculously good looking. I can't wait to hear of the little one's arrival....
