On the morning of their wedding, amidst make-up brushes and champagne, Leigh-Ann shared with me the story of the night that Mat asked her to be his wife. She actually, physically went to the spot in their living room where he proposed, and gesturing excitedly, she let me in on their love story. I love my job.
As I shared in their engagement session (definitely one of my all time favourites to date), we hit it off with Mat + Leigh-Ann from the start. Because of this great connection, Steve and I were extra excited for what I knew would be a magical wedding. Part of the magic lay in the location. The ceremony and reception took place on a stunning property in Pitt Meadows, aptly called The Field of Dreams.
I was so impressed by the owner Shelley, and her daughter Krysten...they managed all the details of the day with such class, sweetness and efficiency. The Field of Dreams takes limited bookings each year, and they have my utmost recommendation.
The day began for me at Mat + Leigh-Ann's home on the most perfect morning (from a photographer's perspective, of course)...nice and warm with overcast skies. Please excuse the insane amount of photos below...I loved this wedding :)
{this wedding was full of personal details...Leigh-Ann's maid of honor did her make-up and another bridesmaid made so many of the sewn wonders you see...amazing women!}
{Leigh-Ann presented her girls with beautiful jewelry from Stella & Dot}
{this cute little ring bearer was quite wowed by the beautiful bride}
{meanwhile, the guys were getting ready...and hit a few bumps...as in, the grooms shirt he had picked up the day before was about double his size. Mat handled this in true Mat fashion...with humour, a few shirtless photos, and a trip to the Bay!}
{I managed to sneak this shot before the couple had seen each other, when Mat stopped by the house on the way to their first look destination}
{the first look took place just down the road from their home....I LOVE first looks!}
{after the first look it was off to the Field of Dreams for the beautiful ceremony}
{after a few shots on the property, we headed to a secondary portrait location that Leigh-Ann + Mat had scouted out...seriously, I love how invested this couple was in their day and their photos}
{then it was back to the venue for the reception}
{I loved Mat + Leigh-Ann's dessert table...each item was made by family and friends...a combination of sweets handmade with love}
